Adriana López Vermut
Adriana López Vermut started her professional work in the world of start-ups and entrepreneurship, working at Viamericas, a South American money transfer company and at SpaceVest, a venture capital firm funding technology start-ups.
In 2008 Adriana crossed over to the entrepreneurial side and launched Pica Pica Arepa Kitchen, a restaurant offering Venezuelan arepas with a 100% gluten-free menu. The first location was located in Napa Valley, at the Oxbow Public Market. In 2009, the Napa location was complimented with Pica Pica Bar, offering a large selection of draft beers, Latin cocktails and small Venezuelan bites. Pica Pica expanded to San Francisco, opening a location in the Mission District in 2010 and the Castro District in 2014.
Through Pica Pica Arepa Kitchen, Adriana successfully introduced a new food concept in the Bay Area, and in 2014 went on the Food Network with Guy Fieri on Diners, Drive-In’s, and Dives. Adriana brings experience in opening locations, managing day to day operations, brand development, marketing and sales and developing different ways for customers to access Pica Pica, be it through brick and mortar, online ordering, meals kits or catering.
